At the Flea-post II

Hello friends, last month I shared my first series of “At the Flea” something I am trying to bring here after every good flea market haul. We usually go to the local flea market here in Farmingdale, NJ at Allaire State Park. They have them once a month but since COVID they have been having them more often.

Here’s what I picked up and how I have them styled…

This was the whole reason behind me getting a Jeep Gladiator so I can load furniture easily.

Some things that caught my eye…

This was a great painting…didn’t snag it or check out it’s price but very pretty.
This was so neat the guy was asking $70 for it..perfect condition posters from 1800-1920’s classroom.
Thought this vase was pretty neat
Obsessed with this fixture, but I was already out of $$$$ He was asking $60
I’m telling you…dogs are in!!!! I should have picked up some and kicking myself that I didn’t. I want to add some to my son’s room. These were $3 but another guy was selling his for $15

What I brought home…

This amazing “made in France” tapestry. Perfect condition and I bought it for $10!!!!!
A stack of kind of musty vintage books, but I got an entire box for $20
This music book was also in the stack of books…thinking of what I can do with it. Could be a fun Christmas DIY project.

I picked up these prints for $10 and added them to my sons room, this amazing horse sculpture which I splurged but I really wanted a horse sculpture. The guy had it originally listed at $125 and I got it for $60. Those wooden bowls for $5, and the pen holder for $5 (thought that was so NEAT!)

I picked up these ottomans since the guy sold it to me for $20…I thought they would be great in my daughter’s room…but they don’t work, so I currently listed them to Facebook Marketplace and trying to make a profit from them and have them listed at $60

Keep in mind sometimes you can buy at the flea to re-sell on marketplace or if you have a furniture/vintage booth.

I couldn’t pass up these chairs for $40 for 4!!!! I added them here in my craft room for now. Thinking about possibly painting them too.
Here’s those prints I added to my son’s gallery wall
The horse sculpture I’m in love with!

Loving the way these shelves are coming together. I added this “october day” print here too to transition to fall.

For now I put the tapestry here…not sure I LOVE it here, but it’s so pretty!

So what to keep an eye out for if you’re shopping vintage this year?

  • Horse/dog sculptures and figurines
  • Vintage artwork (always)- watercolors, oil paintings, portraits, landscapes
  • pottery
  • Tapestries

I hope you guys enjoyed this series, Catch our behind the scenes on our Youtube video!

  1. I was at Allaire this past Saturday too!! I saw so many of the same things that you posted. I did not see the cute dog ceramic figures, they are so cute. I did see the “sailing” sign and thought that would be so cute if you had sailing in your family. I did not see those cute wicker ottomans. What time do you usually get there? I try to get there by 10am other wise it gets way too hot especially wearing a mask!
There is another one this weekend….yay!

  2. Thank you for sharing your treasures – I love to see the bargains other people find. It helps give me a broader view on what to look for. My husband and I moved to SE Pennsylvania a year ago and I don’t yet know where the good shopping spots are. Covid has kind of delayed my exploration. But I’m thinking this area will be fun once things get back to normal!

  3. Great finds. I really love the school posters in the original wooden holder- I remember that from my own school days!

  4. OMG, you got some great finds! I also love that horse statue and those ottomans <>. Haven’t found anything recently that I couldn’t live without (who would have thought) but that doesn’t stop me from the great adventure!
