DIY Anthropologie “look a like” Jars

Hi Friends! I got an easy and fabulous one for you all today. My friends and I are taking part in this challenge, where we are inspired by products from some beautiful home decor stores and trying to make our version of them. So, this month we chose Anthropologie. After browsing their site a bit I knew exactly what I wanted to do after coming across this gorgeous antique looking jars.

Isn’t this adorable? I just loved it when I saw it, I can just imagine so many things to put in a jar this cute. Especially for my master bathroom makeover that is in the back of my head (who knows when that will happen). I love the antique gold caps and the decorative glass that makes it feel like it’s from another time.

Anyhow the price of just one is $24!

Whattttt???

So, I wanted to figure out a way that I can make the same for a fraction of the price, and maybe a few of these in different sizes. Great way to store some q-tips or cotton balls.

Here’s where I started…

before mason jars

I picked up these “normal” mason jars

and then all you need is some Antique Gold Spray Paint this will give it that same antique color that the anthropologie lids have.

Spray paint over newspaper

and once dry apply back to jar.

Wait, that’s it?

Yep! and then you have a fabulous looking mason jar for storage. It’s amazing how much the gold updated these jars completely. They look so glamorous now. You could add a little dark wax to the lids too for more of an aged look.
