TREND ALERT: Whimsy Interiors

Maybe its the way patterns and colors look and feel in these spaces mixed with personal collections and interiors that make you feel like you entered a story book. Not for everyones taste but gosh the originality and personality of these really thought out spaces make me love whimsy too!

A lot of interior trends are going around right now include English Cottage, Granny-chic, Eclectic Collector, and personalized spaces which basically mean less predictable. One style we have been seeing the uptick with is whimsy interiors. Are you ready to dive into this full of personality trend?

Lets take a scroll through some interiors that have whimsy Inspo…

What makes this space whimsy? The pattern layering, soft tones and fun shapes in the floor paint, chair design, and flowers.

If you caught the last two blog posts I wrote then you might of noticed a theme…candy stripe or cabana stripes! Something very trendy about this but also so nostalgic. I love the pop of a stripe and having it a whimsy color like yellow, blue, or green is amazing! this sofa with the asian wall diver pattern speaks whimsy! source: @beauvamp

A more eclectic regal way of adding whimsy but the wallpaper meets the colors and vintage stoneware is just giving me all the heart eyes. Source: @homedecor.cigdem

Could you imagine a whimsy closet??? The colors, the patterns, the sophistication still of bringing whimsy is! This has all the feels of cottage core- meets whimsical dressing room. source: @sylviehunt_interiors

A playroom with whimsy! YES PLEASE! All tonal design but the play on pattern and texture in this simple nook space is a child’s dream…and moms! source: @fairfaxinteriors

And the cutest whimsies bathroom ever! Scallops, play on color and pattern…not to mention adorable features like the sink and towel warmer. source: @sylviehunt_interiors

Now a play on colors and pattern might feel a lot for most homes but we can learn a lot from how these designers and homes are done. Adding layers patterns is a win on a bed or in an entire room. Adding a pop of stripes is classic and fun, and to not take any room too seriously how adorable a bathroom, dressing room, or play room could be with a little touch of unexpectedness.
