2023 Christmas Decorating Plans

It is that time of year again when I started pre-maturely playing Christmas music…browse Pinterest for inspiration, and  maybe think about my Christmas list once or twice. This year feels extra special being in a new home. My kids feel it and so do I, that this Christmas will officially help us to feel like we are finally home. Something about getting through the first holiday and my hope is most of our “big” renovations and details are done before then. What I love the most about this house is that it truly feels like a Christmas house. I’ve even thought about hosting Christmas tours here (but that’s for a later year maybe two years down the road when our lives feel more settled and more of the spaces in the house are complete). For now…a kitchen, living room, dinging room, and maybe hallway are all I’m focused on making this house feel especially festive.

Christmas Decorating 2023

So the ideas have began, and I’d like to stay classic, Old World, and a bit victorian. Not too far  from the previous years, just a new-“old” home to make it feel extra special.

Here are some photos of inspiring Christmas rooms

Classic and simple…an adorned tree with candle lights, topped with a star. I love the warmth in the textiles here and keeping the focus on the ambiance of candlelight and fresh greenery. With a Victorian or classic Christmas The space speaks for itself. Source

Another amazing Christmas home with reds and greens. I love the simplicity mixed with candle and red textiles. source

Cozy vintage interiors with layers of pattern and a beautiful not too overly ornate Christmas tree. source

I love the idea of simple candlelight and bows! I plan on adding all candles to our windows as well. source

Vintage, candles, and bows…with a bit of crystal glamour! source

bows and lights…simple but romantic tree. Source

I’m sure there will be more Inso as the season gets closer…but here’s what I’m looking at to achieve this look!

The best Ribbon (still undecided on color), velvet and satin for bows, candle light everywhere, fresh greens but also the really good faux stuff, and I think more vintage and crystal ornaments.

  1. My house is ‘old western’, and I try to decorate around that. But there is something about the cozy Victorian feel, the greens and the candlelight that beckons!
