I have been obsessed with this new technique called Fresco Lime paint. It’s this amazing product that Pure & Original offer that creates this old world feel to your walls. The paint creates a textured feel that has a matte look with just a little definition to add depth to those drywall walls. Kind of like a plaster feel but a whole lot easier and manageable as a home owner to pull off.

The Technique:
I will say the technique took a little getting use to. With the guidance of the Pure & Original team, watching the tutorial on their website over and over again, I was able to figure out the brush strokes, the diluting of the paint and the overall technique.
First Prime walls with the the prime with a roller.
Next, lime paint in cross-hatch motion (2-3 coats, be sure wall is completely dried between coats).
- First Prime walls with the the prime and as you would paint.
- Next, lime paint in cross-hatch motion (2-3 coats, be sure wall is completely dried between coats)
- Finish with Dead flat sealer
Lime Paint as quoted on the Pure & Original site: “Lime paint is a breathing, mould- and bacteria resistant paint, what makes it extremely suitable for application in the bathroom and kitchen”.

and the AFTER!
The color I chose was coffee and cream, it’s a nice creamy white with a hint of warmth to it. The paint will definitely go on darker then how it dries.
Just adore this finish and by applying it over the molding it truly gives that old-world European feel that I truly love.

Thanks so much Cami! very different then the Marrakech both amazing finishes though.
Love!!!!!!! Does it cover and smooth out existing orange peel wall texture? I have a powder room I need to refresh.
It does! I’ll send you the image on IG
Love that look; does it cover over wallpaper?
Hey Heather I reached out to the brand and she said yes!
Yes, it can cover wallpaper!
Deb, I’ve been wanting something like this for my bathroom for ages. But how do I access the tutorial? When I click on the above tutorial image, nothing happens. Do I have to go to the Pure and Original website?
Hi Naomi, the tutorial is in a video on this post. There’s probably an AD in front of it, so just wait for it to load.
Deb, I went to the Pure and Original website and looked for dealers but there were none listed in North America! Does that mean that you ordered this paint from Europe?
Hi Naomi, they do sell in the US http://www.pureoriginalusa.com and they have store in Boston and on coming up in East Hampton
So lovely!! It would be wonderful to get your opinion on a comparison the line wash vs marrakesh wall treatment. How do the textures differ? Ease of application? Do they eliminate the dreaded stomp and drag builder grade orange peel texture? Love everything about your home and appreciate everything you share!!
Hi Kari! Absolutely, the finishes are very different. The Marrakach is more similar to a plaster feel and Lime is more “paint” but wit a matte feel and cloudy appearance. I don’t know if that’s a helpful deescription of the finish, but probably the best way of describing it. I think Lime is easier to apply, but Marrakach is less tedious. Both you need a primer and a sealer so they each take multiple coats. I have a finish that the company sent me of how lime looks over the orange peel look on a wall. If you message me on IG I’ll send that over to you.
