A New Rug in the Master Bedroom

I hope this post encourages you all, that sometimes its the simple changes that can make the difference. Not every great makeover has to be an entire gut or revamp, but just some new bedding, throw pillows, or great new area rug can make all the difference. I am going to tell you all a little secret, this room was originally designed around this rug I am sharing today, but it was not in the cards at that moment, so I chose another complimenting option…but I am so happy that I never let go of the idea to include my favorite rug ever-ever in this space!

This past year I have had the privileges’ to take part in the Annie Selke design program where they sent me some products to style in my home and every piece has been the perfect compliment. So, one of the initial pieces I had requested was the harlequin 8 x 10 area rug for our master bedroom. It happen to be on back order at the time, so when it came back in stock (on my birthday) I was a giddy girl excited for the new rug to arrive and to swap out our master carpet for the this star of the show!

It’s funny hubby and I were talking about atheltes and celebrities yesterday and talking about how certain athletes just have that “it factor”. They don’t even have to be the best man for the job, but they have something about them…so later in the day this carpet arrived and as we rolled it out, I said “gosh this carpet sure does have that It factor!” I totally believe a piece of furniture or accent in the home can have that “it factor” that just makes the entire space! I am thrilled with the new look and how well it matches everything (I mean after all I did say it was originally designed for this space when I worked on this room for the One Room Challenge in fall 2019).

The Harlequin pattern as you know is a favorite for me! I just love it’s timeless look and boldness, and having it done in the jute rug brings that love of tradition and casual all together. Its truly a special piece and could look good in any room! I even considered maybe the dining room, but I think the master bedroom is where it’s always meant to be in our home.
