Whether you’re a wait until after Thanksgiving Christmas decorator or your tree is halfway out of your crawlspace Halloween night, you must be thinking about your Christmas decorating and theme this year. Working on my plans for the season by browsing Pinterest and I have also been looking around at some Christmas décor that is out right now. I think I am going to try to limit my shopping this year but deciding what I am going to add to my collection from what is currently in the shops.
To help inspire you all for your Christmas decorating plans I thought I’d jump on early and give you some direction along with what I am liking that are listed in online shops right now. Some, I have purchased, plan to purchase, or just really like! I will say I am going to try to scale back a bit this year (so I say now) after last year we prepared for our Country Home Magazine feature (out in stores now) and that was a ton of preparation. I am thinking going very EUROPEAN (like stepping it up a notch) and then a ton of vintage.
Here’s my Round up of some favorite pieces I found in my favorite online Home Décor shops…
What am I calling my Christmas style this year: Whimsy-French-Vintage Christmas!
Last year I went with a little more of the Home Alone meets European…bringing some of that true 90’s nostalgia and a bit Victorian. I selected pops of red, poinsettias, and some color. I’ve already started buying some vintage ornaments for the season and ordered that stunning basket tree collar. I’m thinking more bare trees this year and even switching up where I place them in our house.
Last year I also brought in some hydrangeas and that’s not totally off the table this year though I may not add them to my tree but possibly the fireplace garland. I think I’ll be doing a very floral and fruit inspired garland again.
Candle sticks, vintage, a touch of metallic, neutrals, and maybe a touch of red just in our European Lounge since I already started incorporating red there.
Where the French/ European touches will come in is with some vintage ornaments, I’m thinking of doing a nativity scene which I bought some vintage Italian nativity figures for, and maybe that European Kitchen Christmas.
Of course candle sticks, brass, and if these don’t sell before Christmas…they will def be a staple in our Christmas bookshelf!
What I most definitely will be doing is making everything feel more organically placed and less staged! But gosh I can have an idea in another week and this can all go a completely different direction. These are items I am 100% loving though for this season.
Some ideas I’ve pinned for this year’s inspiration!
I hope this gets you inspired, Christmas is right around the corner and I am so ready!

I can’t link to either of the brocade stockings. One says “Not Found” and the other simply comes up blank. They look lovely.
Oh no they are probably sold out already
I too love the European ways of Christmas decorating! Very calm and peaceful with just the right amount of jolly!
