Valentine’s day is right around the corner and I am always thinking of creative ideas on how we can celebrate holidays by incorporating our European farmhouse style. Although there is nothing quite like a trip to Europe I am thinking of how to take all the charm and allure of European experiences and how we can translate that in our homes. How can we replicate some of the magic of a romantic European vacation? Well let’s start by looking at some inspiration…..
Adding fresh flowers to your home such as lilacs, lavender, roses, babies-breath or peonies creates a fresh uplifting space that exudes romance. This image above is the perfect relaxed feel of lilacs…tossed in a bucket as a kitchen center piece.
Create a simple vignette of gathered babies wreath with vintage décor! Even dried flowers are romantic!
Treat yourself to Gelato or make it at home! Something so much more romantic sound about Gelato than ice-cream!
Floral artwork is the perfect way to make a European Romantic Home!
European vacations are rich in history, culture and art…how about discovering a new painter, sculptor or pottery and starting a collection. Grab a great book from the library to learn more about the popular European tourist attractions.
Host a wine and cheese party!
A simple but elegant tablescape with candles and flowers
What is Valentine’s Day without chocolate?! Celebrate by treating yourself or a loved one to a artisan box from around the world
The way to my heart is through my stomach lol so a great bowl of some comfort food like pasta says I LOVE YOU!
The perfect evening sounds a little like this for a Romantic European Home: Some good music with a candlelit dinner featuring an authentic homemade pasta recipe paired with the perfect wine and a luxurious steep in a lavender scented bubble bath. Then sipping on gourmet tea from Paris sounds like my idea of delighting in the finer things in life…the European Farmhouse way.
Thanks for stopping by, I hope your honey can help you create a beautiful romantic evening or home during this month of February. Its all about simple choices in the house to create romance, no need for cheesy hallmark decorations and sentiments.

You’ve summed up Euro Romance perfectly and these pics are gorgeous! Looking to add these ideas to my home this week – plus candles! Lots of yummy candles!
All great ideas!! And really, good music, candle light dinner of homemade pasta and a scrumptious heart-shaped cake works as well for a family. Maybe as a family, learn how to say please, thank you, and I love you in French! I actually decorated a tiny bit for Valentines Day today because it will come quicker than you think. Une Amie et tres jolie!
Oh, spaghetti with red gravy ad red wine. Wish I had the perfect, to my taste that is sauce/gravy recipe. Share your recipe?
