Fall 2023 Home Trends

I can’t wait to update you all on styling and designs that are happening here at the Mountain Chateau, but we are still not quite there yet. I have a post coming soon…but until then I started feeling fall in the air today. I never ever ever rush to fall, I love it but I equally love summer so I love a slow transition. Though this is true I am still curious what is up ahead and what I should start planning for some seasonal styling in my new home for the new season. I shared with my vendors today on Vintage Keepers in our monthly email about what to expect in home design and how to equip their shops for the seasonal trends. That had me thinking and sourcing… I thought let’s pop over on the blog and share what I found and what I personally think every home needs for fall 2023.

Fall 2023 Home Trends

Textures/ Velvet

I think the number one way every home can instantly become cozier for the cooler months is adding the right textures. I am personally loving the layered texture feel and always have. I think its choosing the right textures and sticking with “authentic” and “natural. One texture I am especially loving right now and we will see a ton of for fall is Velvet. Pair this with some wool, jute, and vintage textiles for a beautiful layered fall look.

Color

Of course we always get moodier, earthier, and cozier with our tones in fall. Colors are usually within the same range every season but I would especially add tones of brown, green, burgundy this season. Some other favorites are gold tones, blush, and anything moody.

Lighting

Fall is when we get cozier in our homes with candles and dim lighting. We have all probably heard about lamp o’clock by now and its a real thing. We are selling more lamp lighting on vintage keepers because of it and people are opting for lamp lighting over the overhead lighting more. It creates the perfect ambiance and cozy feel during those darker hours and rainier days. Think about adding tapered candles and of course your favorite seasonal candle (cough, cough “Sylvie” from Fleur & flame) and you’ll never want to leave home.

Accessories

As the vintage decor becomes “trendier” we can deny that vintage art, decor are going to be something that you are going to especially love adding to your home this season. Vintage-Keepers.com has some of my most favorite pieces of course and our vendors are adding items all this month to bring seasonal charm to your home. Birds (pheasants, peacocks, owls, and turkeys), tapestries, rugs, amber, and tansferware are a few vintage favs at the moment in seasonal colors.
