I have shared it before here a great movie home or movie scenes for inspo. but I just watched two movies this past weekend that got me all giddy again. One is a classic I have watched over and over since I was a kid and the other was a new movie that might not have been the best quality move, but the views were awesome. I thought I would share some inspo pics and then break down each of the styles.
Movie #1 The Classic 1998 Parent Trap staring a very young Lindsay Lohan. I watched this movie so many times as a young girl and was excited to share it with my daughter and family this past weekend. It is just cliché Summer as the scene starts out at an American East coast summer camp. What got me even more excited watching it back as a décor obsessed adult, was the homes that take place in London and Napa. For the European loving heart both places tugged at my heart strings. The stunning London exquisite home that is filled with traditional style that even today would be considered in style, and the Spanish influence of the Napa home…for real like two of my favorite styles blended in one movie.
Let’s take a look first at the home in London.
Warm full of pattern walls and decor, traditional moldings, gallery walls, and elegant vintage furnishings. A true eclectic traditional space that appears to have treasures from travels, exquisite art work, and elegant finishes.
As for the home in Napa…
This home looks like something a designer today would design. It has the perfect Mediterranean touches meets rustic country feel. Every bit of this home is dreamy from it’s limestone fireplace, wooden ceilings and doors, and oversized large oil painting. The exterior is a dream with all that Ivy and though we can’t see much of the kitchen it would be the perfect country kitchen with marble counters that looks right out of a Devol catalog.
Layers of the perfectly styled space thanks to Nancy Meyers amazing eye again in another one of her classic movies. Each scene has you dreaming for a lifestyle lived by one of these characters.
Could you a pick of favorite of the two??? I’m not quite sure myself pretty obsessed with both styles for different reasons, but possibly I lean a little bit more towards the Napa home.
I am sure this was a classic movie choice if you have watched before and of course just like some of the other Nancy Meyers movies I have shared about it fits right in with the rest…possibly at the top of my list
Moving onto something new that just dropped this summer, Love and Gelato. Yes, you had me at Gelato too…but this a dream vacation to Italy. A little less home focused but there are some scenes in this move that’ll have you wanting to design your next airbnb escape in Rome!
Any movie that mixes food, travel, and good decorating is my kind of movie! Though I can’t say the move was the best, I truly enjoyed the scenery. It was a little like a summer Hallmark movie I would compare it too.

The interiors were exquisite with true European collections and interior spaces. I love the vintage artwork, cookware, and scenes of food. Of course we can’t forget the little Nonna that makes cooking look effortless in her Italian kitchen.
Overall my hubby might of fell a sleep to this one, but I was looking past the story line and at the vision of these spaces that had me completely inspired.
Any good interior movies you have watched lately? I really hope Nancy Meyers does another movie sometime soon. There is nothing quiet like what she shares visually.
