Preparing for my Early Fall Home

Today was 97 degrees here in PA and tomorrow is going to be 73 a major drop and though I can hang onto summer forever and ever…the little break of heat is going to be so nice. The rain is moving in tonight and I’ve got the candles lit and the sweat pants on. I am gearing up for some cozy the next few days but thankful it’s early August and we still have some more summer days ahead before we are completely in the cozy fall season. At dinner tonight I said the words…Fall and immediately everyone had some kind of reaction. I was like well listen its gonna be cozy and I need to be preparing myself and other people for the fall months ahead by deciding what to buy or style with for this season. So, yes I am going to write my first fall post of the season tonight.

Preparing for Early Fall Checklist:

What I love about thinking of the fall season ahead is that summer and fall are my two favorite seasons. I don’t want one to end but I am excited about the next so it makes up for the loss. I love that you can ease out of one and into the next and since September is seriously the best month of the year weather wise there is no hurry to just completely into full on fall but create a transitional season look that will compliment the trickling of summer and the rise of fall.

The best way to go about this transition is to start to weave in some of these essentials for the fall starting.

  • Room Spray
  • Incense (I prefer this during the late summer early fall he most)
  • candles (seasonal scents and pillar candles, fleur & flame fall fragrances dropping soon)
  • natural objects like (pinecones, dried flowers, featehers, taxidermy, and insects)
  • A refresh on matchbooks and lighters
  • Candle holders
  • throw blankets with more textures (I love a linen or light throw to add layers of cozy and to throw on for chillier nights and mornings)
  • pottery pieces for styling and using (I love vintage or artisanal pieces that add texture and warmth for these months ahead)

This may contain: two vases with plants sit on a table in front of a chair and window

And of course my tip for all things…shop Vintage! Don’t forget I operate the vintage-keepers.com marketplace and sell my own pieces in my personal vintage shop, Lavender Lane Market.

I hope this inspires you friends!
