Let’s face it…not every home is fortunate to have an amazing mudroom where you hang up backpacks and kick off muddy shoes with gorgeous windows to let in all that natural light. One of my favorite rooms in a well decorated house is the mudroom. I’ve spent multiple hours just “googling” mudrooms and how to accomplish this look in my house.
Here are some great photos of mudrooms that have inspired me/ “the maybe one day”
Well fortunately, I have a pretty good size wall next to my front door that was just waiting to be “planked” and made into a “mudroom wall”
Step 1. Google
Step 2. Google some more
Step 3. Decide on the type of wood that would be easiest to work with.
Step 4. Dragging my husband and kids to Lowes.
Step 5. Quietly hammering while the kids are sleeping (impossible lol)
Step 6. Adding molding with a shelf to the top
Step 7. Painting
Step 8. Adding hooks purchased from Lowes ($4.something)
Step 9. Decorating the wall This will be done tonight and then I can post an after photo
Making a plank Wall
This was a very easy process especially with the product they sell at Lowes called
Empire Company 5/16-in x 3-9/16-in x 8-ft Unfinished Wood Wall Panel
For now…here is the photos of the wall coming together
Here is the wall before the paint and decorating. Looking forward to my post tomorrow, with the complete transformation.
