Christmas Photos 2014

I have been waiting for the right time to post about my Christmas decorations, and of course waiting for the right lighting in the house to take the photos. I feel every day I am home either the lighting has not been quite right or I am too busy to take any photos. Those excuses are going to have to be brushed aside this weekend…cause I am so anxious to showcase my Christmas decorations this year. Actually my first since blogging…last year I was not quite there yet with the blog so this will be the first official Christmas Walk Through for me.

In the meantime I wanted to showcase some of my Christmas photos that I took of the kids a few weeks back and used on our Shutterfly Christmas Cards. We chose a winter scene this year with the kids dressed up in hats and gloves and we stuck to a white and blue color scheme.

I love to tell a story with the photos and to keep all the photos matching…this really makes for an overall professional look. Not saying that every photo we took came out perfect, but when displaying them all together, it really becomes a “together” look.

One more great pointer…use background patterns and colors to tie together the photo as well. Since I was going for a blue and white theme I really wanted  a blue throw blanket with a pattern in the background. Since I did not have one I compromised by taking a pair of plaid blue/green pajama pants and draped them over the chair. It may not be extremely notice able in the photos, but it helps to add interest by giving the photo layers and texture in the background.

I hope you like the photos and look forward to seeing my Christmas Walk 2014!

    1. Thanks so much Bre! I know it is nearly impossible to have them both cooperate. I took a whole lot of photos to get these few good ones : )

  1. I think your pictures turned out great! I never would have guessed that those were pajama pants on the chair! Very clever. 🙂 Thanks for sharing at On Display Thursday! Join us again on Thursday.
