English Cottage Winter Home

After all of the holiday decor comes down, January can feel a bit dull. The English cottage style is the perfect cure for the winter decorating rut/winter blues. Its charming elements (plants, tea, books) focused on lifestyle are calming to the mind and body. This style forces us to focus on life’s greatest pleasures…..the simple and small moments. Incorporating elements from this style can create a calming enviroment reminding us to slow down and enjoy the small moments in the everyday routine. Here I have rounded up some quaint English cottage style homes that are inspiring and show some simple and creative ways to mix this style in your winter home.

Pattern, color and indoor plants are key elements in this style that can easily be added in a winter home to brighten up a dark corner.

Displaying all of the cozy antique/vintage items like candle holders, lamps, tea pots and books!

Comfort is king in this style, using wintery whites and neutrals mixed with a touch florals and a warm herringbone throw creates a light and airy living room that will make your guest want to stay a while.

Curate a gallery wall of art, plates, mirrors or anything you love. Why not get out the china or collections you love and put it on display. English homes are known for collected, pieced together looks that are a bit of imperfect.

I hope this has you inspired to add a little bit of English cottage to your winter home. Here I have added some links here to help you get the look
