Master Bedroom Design Inspiration

As I posted Earlier today…I have been too busy this past week to DIY : (

I know DIY is my life and of course my favorite thing to post on here…after all that’s what it is all about. Anyhow sometimes life gets in the way and projects need to be put on hold. In the mean time I thought I would share some of the inspirations I have come across to help me stay motivated with re-styling our room.

Our house is mostly decorated with neutral tones…I love decorating with grays, and whites, with accent colors in beige, black, and rich wood tones. I really wanted to go with a different feel for our master…just to feel as if we are escaping to a new place when in there. I probably could have created a gorgeous room with my favorite colors, but it is the one space that does not flow with the rest of the house so I am able to do something different with it. After all I love design and that means all design…would I put every type of design genre in my house? No!..but I wanted to go for a real french country feel with chippy and vintage furniture. I think my favorite choice thus far is to go with a blue paint color for 3 of the four walls in the room which keeps the space soothing and bright. Nothing like waking up in here on a sunny morning.

Well…there is tons to do more in our room and looks like we will be tackling some of these projects very soon. To keep me motivate and inspired here are some photos that showcase the style I am going for and hope to accomplish sooner than later.

The Blue we have is a little darker than this shade, but love the grey and wood tones in this photo.

We have two windows side-by-side just as this room I have been on the hunt for a tall chest just like this one in the picture.

We currently have white walls where our windows are, and white curtains….this picture makes me think about adding a print to the current curtains or buying ones with a blue and white print.

Oh how I wish I had planked walls throughout my room…the hubby would probably divorce me if I requested such a thing. But a girl can dream!

Absolutely stunning, light and airy, and the perfect vintage touches.

Gold is definitely an accent color in our room…pairs so well with blue and white.

I actually have this photo sitting in my room for inspiration. Funny how I found awesome sparrow photos while vintage shopping and had never picked up that they were in this photo until way after I had bought them.

Love the printed table clothe…very similar to my Reupholstered French Style Chair Makeover

Looking for a gold side table lamp similar to this floor lamp.

Recently decided that we will be doing a faux fireplace in our bedroom and distress it to look like a vintage piece. Can not afford a real vintage mantle…too expensive, but I am excited for this project.

Well, I am hoping to be back tomorrow with Window Shop Wednesday, but who knows with this wacky week I am having. Let me know if you have any suggestions for our room or comments…love to hear your thoughts!
