Home Healing During Quarantine

Now’s a great time to use our Home Healing lifestyle to really make home a place to feel rested, inspired, and to enjoy! Most of us are on some kind of quarantine due to the virus and being home doesn’t have to be so bad. I know it may get a little boring, we may run out of snacks, the kids are bound to be on their tablets more then we will like, and we may even start to feel anxiety from it all. So, what can we do to make home a place to love, embrace our time during the quarantine process, and start to look towards a home healing lifestyle?

Here are the essential ways to be ready for your quarantine with Home Healing in mind:

  1. Get the home clean and tidy!

Yes, that doesn’t sound fun, but having a clean environment that feels healthy is important. Maybe now is the perfect time to tackle those junk drawers…and fortunately Amazon is one place we can still order from without exposing ourselves to the outdoor world.

2. Order your candles for a home that smells good!

I just launched a new subscription line of candles. This way you have your fragrance of the month arrive at your door every month. The first candle will be arriving first week of April. Perfect time to order now as there is a very good chance we will still be in isolation during the early April weeks. Get your home smelling good which will create an environment that feels good. You can also consider doing a stove top spring potpourri.

3. If you are homeschooling and working from home too, get on a good schedule. Here’s the google dog to my schedule I am doing in my home.

4. Homemade meals that are therapeutic and bound to give you some left-overs.

Consider something that involves slicing, canned items, and simple inexpensive ingredients.

ex. Eggplant parm or homemade bread- I use this bread maker that makes it so much easier when I don’t have a lot of time on my hands. The whole house smells amazing and is a great option if you run out of bread before quarantine is over.

5. Take time to paint!

Now is the perfect time to paint that room you have been wanting to get to, a piece of furniture, or try out some water color painting. Whatever it may be painting can be so therapeutic and of course getting a room done in your home will make your home feel fresh and new.

6. Turn the TV off and turn the music up!

Whether you just need a kitchen dance party, a soothing song to paint your furniture to, or need some oldies to bring you back to a nostalgic time. Turn the music up! Looking for a spring relaxing station that will bring you far far away to maybe a street in Paris, listen to my March playlist here.

7. Start an herb garden...before you local garden spot closes down pick up some herbs. You may need this to make your upcoming meals taste fresh. It’s also therapeutic to grow and take care of plants. Get tips here for how to grow indoor plants and grow that green thumb.

8. Read a book!

Sound familiar “I haven had time to get into a good book in a while” I know our schedules are so busy and reading- a favorite past time- has been a hard thing to go about. So, order some books and get into a good story or find a book that is a good spiritual book or learn a new skill.

9. Don’t forget to pick up some flowers to have some fresh flowers.

It may be a long few weeks why not have some pretty flowers to lift your spirits. Especially it being spring you may need a cheerful centerpiece.

10. Order some good coffee or tea!

Coffee is my way to unwind and I know a good cup of coffee is so important for me. Our meals may be a little sub-par and with our restaurants closed our taste buds may need a little something. So, invest in good coffee or tea get you through the next month.
